Throughout the Year
We run special events throughout the year such as a Passover Meal at Easter, Community Barn Dance, Summer Picnics and Barbecues, hosting an event for the Tear Fund Big Quiz Night and Carol Services at Christmas. Full details of these can be found on our Facebook page.
At the end of February each year we welcome a team of students from Capernwray College as part of their 10 Day Outreach programme. The students assist us with a programme of outreach activities such as.
Running a charity stall for Leeds City Mission in Queen Street along with the distribution of Christian Literature to shoppers.
Delivering performances of a Bible Exhibition at local primary schools assisted by evangelists from the Open Air Mission.
Visiting various Coffee Mornings around the town to talk to older people and deliver a Pensioners Lunch in the Labour Rooms. The team also normally lead a Farewell Service and tea at Jubilee Court.
Deliver Christian literature to homes in Morley, this has often been copies of the Living Word Calendar.
The students also lead our church services and mid-week activities and run services at other local churches.
Each year in the Easter school holiday we run a children’s Holiday Club. In recent years activities have been at Seven Hills School in the morning and then repeated at St. Francis Primary School in the afternoon and included games, craftwork, stories, singing and quizzes.
Morley Camping Venture is run by the members of the Church and supported by other local churches. It was established in 1999 to organise camping holidays for young people from all backgrounds who live in Morley and the surrounding districts. Campers are involved in a mixture of physical and fun activities while also teaching them about Christianity. Recent camps have been held at the Northwood Christian Centre in High Legh, Cheshire and have been for children ages 11-16. Activities have included a day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a day out at the seaside in Rhyl, ten pin bowling, swimming, a night walk, team games and challenges on site, a session on the Trafford Treetop Adventure and an afternoon at a Maize Maze.
