From 24 February to 5 March a team of 8 students from Capernwary College assisted us with an outreach programme. During the 10 days the students:

  • Ran a charity stall for Leeds City Mission in Queen Street along with a charity Shoe Shine and the distribution of Christian Literature to shoppers.
  • Led and spoke at our church services and also ran services at Batley Pentecostal Church and Newlands Methodist Church.
  • Assisted us with normal church activities including Fountain Tots and YSix.
  • Delivered 17 performances of the Pilgrims Progress Bible Exhibition at Fountain, Seven Hill, Victoria, Newlands, St Francis, Asquith, Queenswood and Birstall primary schools assisted by Allan Peel from the Open Air Mission.
  • Visited various Coffee Mornings around the town to talk to older people and delivered a Pensioners Lunch in the Labour Rooms. The team also led a Farewell Service and tea at Jubilee Court.
  • Delivered 1000 copies of the Good News Newspaper to homes in Morley.

The students visited for a planning weekend on 28 & 29 January and were welcomed to the town by the Mayor.

From 26 February to 6 March a team of 7 students from Capernwary College assisted us with an outreach programme. During the 10 days the students:

  • Ran a charity stall for Leeds City Mission in Queen Street along with a charity Shoe Shine and the distribution of Christian Literature to shoppers.
  • Led and spoke at our church services and also ran services at Batley Pentecostal Church, Newlands Methodist Church and Birstall Community Church
  • Assisted us with normal church activities including a Family Craft Cafe, SYS, Fountain Tots and YSix.
  • Delivered 15 performances of the Amazing Acts Bible Exhibition at Fountain, Seven Hill, Victoria, Asquith, Queenswood, Birstall and Armley primary schools assisted by Alan Peel from the Open Air Mission.
  • Visited various Coffee Mornings around the town to talk to older people and delivered a Pensioners Lunch in the Labour Rooms attended by more than 60 guests. The team also led a Farewell Service and tea at Jubilee Court.
  • Delivered 2500 copies of the Day One Living Word Calendar to homes in Morley.

From Friday 27 February until Sunday 8 March 2015 we had a team of 8 students from Capernwray College staying with us; during the ten day period they:

  • Lead two services in our own church and a service at Newlands Methodist Church and Batley Pentecostal Church.
  • Assisted with our Church normal activities at Fountain Tots and YSix.
  • Distributed over 3000 Day One Living Word Calendars in Queen Street and through doors in the Fountain Street area.
  • Gave 13 presentations of The Life of Christ Bible Exhibition in Fountain, Victoria, Seven Hills, Churwell and Queenswood Primary Schools, assisted by Alan Peel from the Open Air Mission.
  • Visited various coffee mornings in the town.
  • Ran a Pensioners Lunch.
  • Assisted on a YSix outing to the Lazer Centre
  • Ran an evening meeting and tea at Jubilee Court

From 1 – 9 March 2014 we ran an outreach programme with a team of students from Capernwray College.

This included:

  • The use of the Amazing Journey Bible Exhibition in local primary schools, assisted by John Hawley from the Open Air Mission.
  • Visits to coffee mornings at various residential care homes.
  • An after school club at Fountain Primary School.
  • Leaflet and literature distribution in Queen Street and to houses in the area.
  • A pensioners luncheon.
  • Sunday tea with the residents of Jubilee Court.

In addition the students  ran our normal church activities and led the services on two Sundays and they also led a  Sunday service at Newlands Methodist Church.

The students were from USA and Canada.

  • The Amazing Acts Bible Exhibition in local schools assisted by John Hawley from the Open Air Mission. Every child that attended was given a copy of the Day One publication ‘Romans Gladiators and Games’.
  • An After School Club at Fountain Primary School
  • Street evangelism in Queen Street
  • Pensioners Lunch
  • Visits to various residential care homes in the town

The students, who were from USA, Canada and Denmark,  visited for a planning weekend on 28 and 29 January.
